A construction project does not stop when someone leaves the office. Questions arise during site visits, coordination meetings, and installation work. Often, the person who needs an answer has only a phone in hand, limited time, and an unreliable connection.
For many teams, everyday project communication is still spread across email threads, calls, chat groups, file-sharing links, and personal phone galleries. Information may technically exist, but finding the latest version (and understanding what has already been agreed) can take longer than it should.
VOLUM3 brings plans, documents, tasks, comments, meeting information, and specifications into one connected project environment. The mobile app extends that environment beyond the desktop, helping teams access essential information when they are on site or on the move.
The goal is not to replace the web platform with a smaller screen. It is to make mobile work faster and more practical: open the information you need, act on it, and keep the wider team informed.

On a desktop, teams can review a complete project structure, compare documents and manage detailed workflows. On site, the need is usually more immediate: find the right plan, document an issue, assign a task, or confirm a product before the work continues.
The VOLUM3 mobile app is designed around those moments. Users can access project plans directly from their phone, browse them in list or grid view, and use search and filters to reach the right document faster. Plans from the Current Set can also be downloaded in advance, allowing teams to access them when the connection on-site is weak or unavailable.
Folders and subfolders help teams organise plans, files and photos according to the structure that works for their project — for example by discipline, building, storey, room or phase. The mobile app supports up to three folder levels, making navigation easier even on larger projects.
Instead of taking a photo and sending it into a group chat, users can create a task directly in the mobile app or pin it to a precise location on a plan. They can describe the issue, set a priority and deadline, assign responsibility, add followers, attach files or photos, and follow the task’s progress from start to finish.
This gives every issue a clear context: what needs to be resolved, where it is located, who is responsible, and what has happened since it was opened.
Tasks can also be managed offline. Teams can create new tasks, update statuses, edit task details, add comments, and attach images from the phone camera or gallery. Changes are stored on the device and synchronised automatically when an internet connection becomes available again.
VOLUM3 is currently used across active construction projects in Germany, including projects in Berlin and Cologne by Rabe Ero. For teams working in the construction phase, the practical value often comes down to a few everyday improvements: less time spent looking for information, easier documentation of meetings and clearer follow-up of site tasks.
One of Rabe Ero’s engineers, Mr. Dzaja, using VOLUM3 across multiple projects, describes the platform as straightforward to adopt and particularly useful for tracking assigned work and recording weekly coordination. When plans are updated, new versions can be made visible to the project team quickly, reducing the risk of people continuing work from an older drawing.
On the Hotel Marjan project in Split, 3LHD architect Sanja Hokal uses VOLUM3 as a daily coordination tool during the construction phase. For a project involving investors, designers, consultants, contractors and site supervision, the benefit is having questions, responses, decisions and documents visible in one place, rather than dispersed across email exchanges, calls and separate file-sharing systems.
The result is not simply faster communication. It is clearer accountability, a more transparent record of decisions and fewer opportunities for important information to disappear between the office and the site.
VOLUM3 is not another standalone viewer, chat channel or checklist app. It is a mobile extension of the same shared project workspace used on the web, helping teams keep plans, decisions, responsibilities and documentation connected throughout the project lifecycle.
To mark the launch of the VOLUM3 mobile app, we are hosting an event for architecture, engineering, and construction professionals who want to explore how project information can move more smoothly from office to site.
